What is GST Return filing ?

Most of India's indirect tax system is currently governed by the Goods and Services Tax law. The suppliers that have registered with this regime must regularly comply with the compliance requirement. The legal criteria and deadlines for filing returns are established based on turnover and activity. The Goods and Service Tax Network (GSTN) is informed by the taxpayers' online GST return filing of the influx and outflow of supply, as well as the amount of tax paid and collected. The taxpayer is also obligated to pay the amount of tax collected from an external supplier of goods or services following the deduction of Input Tax Credit when filing the taxable transactions with the government (ITC).
